Louise Doughty is an author, playwright and journalist. She’s written nine novels including her latest, Platform Seven, which will be published by Faber & Faber in August 2019.  Her previous book was Black Water, which was published to critical acclaim in the UK and US, where it was nominated as one of the New York Times Notable books of 2016.  Her no 1 bestseller, Apple Tree Yard, has sold over half a million copies in the UK alone and was adapted into a four-part television series for BBC One starring Emily Watson.  She has been nominated for multiple awards including the Costa Novel Award, the Orange Prize for Fiction and the EFG Sunday Times Short Story Prize.  Her work has been translated into thirty languages.
