Pitch Perfect with Emma Darwin
£40.00
In this tutorial we will explore what makes an irresistible submission across different genres: the synopsis, the different elements of a good covering letter, and how to make the most of the chapters you will send. You should leave with a clearer idea of how to grab your reader from the first line whether you’re writing a gritty thriller or the lightest of comedies and how to show an agent that you and your writing deserve their attention.
Writers may send in a one page cover letter, one page synopsis and the opening five pages of their novel for Emma to draw on some examples for the tutorial. These submissions should be sent as three separate documents with the title of the novel in the subject header by Friday April 18. Submissions sent in after this date won’t be read due to the time required for Emma to prepare the tutorial.
A handout will be sent after the event so you don’t need to make extensive notes. If you can’t attend in person you can purchase the recording and handout.
