We are thrilled to confirm our two guest tutors for the October retreat at Asthall Manor, Oxfordshire. Best selling authors Tessa Hadley and Claire Fuller will give afternoon talks and evening readings to writers attending our five night retreat from October 7 – 12 2018 at the childhood home of the literary Mitford sisters.

Professor of Creative Writing at Bath Spa University, Tessa has been described by judges of the Wyndham-Campbell Literature Prize as “one of English’s finest contemporary writers” and “her writing brilliantly illuminates ordinary lives with extraordinary prose that is superbly controlled, psychologically acute and subtly powerful” Her novels have twice reached the longlist of the Orange Prize and her short stories have won multiple awards.

Claire Fuller is a Richard and Judy best seller. Her first novel, Our Endless Numbered Days won the 2015 Desmond Elliott Prize and Swimming Lessons was published in early 2017. Her third, Bitter Bitter Orange will hit the bookstands this summer. Both writers have previously been guest tutors at our retreats to much acclaim. Click here for more details
